Matte Paint: You Know You Want It.
Oh what to say about matte paint finishes. Well a lot actually. Starting with the fact they are an absolute pain to maintain.
The problem with matte? If you touch it wrong it scratches. And if it scratches, you cannot utilize paint correction processes to fix it. The only true option is to repaint.
The problem with repainting matte finishes? They are extremely difficult to color match. So fixing one spot can easily become blending multiple panels...which can easily become repainting an entire car.
Just because of a scratch. I've seen it happen. I've had clients very quickly sell new cars they had selected and had built with matte finishes. But upon actually owning it, they realize they are too psychologically worried about damaging it...it takes all the joy out of owning it. So let's just not do this right?
Welcome to why matte clear bra paint protection film is so fantastic. Why? Because you can have your cake and eat it too.
With a product like STEK Dynonshield Matte PPF, we can take a normal car finished in gloss paint, and convert it to a matte finish.
Take this 2025 BMW X5 as an example. This client wanted Frozen BMW paint. I strongly recommended against it. It costs significantly more, it's impossible to adequately maintain....and as a result, if you are particular about how your car looks, will drive you nuts owning it. I always propose matte PPF instead. We can deliver the exact same look as a frozen factory paint job..at like half the cost...and without all of the hassle! Added bonus? The PPF not only cosmetically changes the appearance, but it also protects the paint too. You can clean it wrong and still get the right end result.
Again...have your cake and eat it too. Matte PPF is easily one of the highest value propositions I can offer you. 12 out of 10. Watch the videos. -James
